Trainer, Mentor and Coach
As a professional my goals are to empower people and facilitate exchanges - “build bridges” - between different groups/audiences
Currently I work as a freelance Trainer, Mentor and Coach. I have over 10 years’ experience in Science Management, most of them focusing on Scientific Training, employed at international and multicultural academic environments. I have been training scientists at all levels since 2011 and coaching since 2021. I regularly organize workshops on how to manage career in science as well as interpersonal communications (focused mainly student/supervisor relationship). As a coach I see myself as an enabler, a catalyst, supporting personal growth and change encouraging clients to think and explore their strengths and challenges. Furthermore, I have a keen interest in research assessment and public engagement.
I have a degree in Biology from the University of Lisbon (2000) and a PhD from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2006, the research work was conducted at the Rockefeller University, New York). I am participating in the accredited program “Foundations in Coaching Practice”, by i-coach Academy. In addition, I am a Member of the CARE network (Career Advisors supporting Researchers in Europe), and of the Marie Curie Alumni Association, and regularly act as an expert for the European Commission MSCA actions
